Bilas on BC loss: I've never seen Carolina play that bad

ESPN analyst Jay Bilas has seen plenty of college basketball over the years, but what he watched Sunday night at the Smith Center stunned him as North Carolina lost to Boston College.

“I’ve never seen North Carolina play this badly,” Bilas said Thursday on 99.9 FM The Fan. “They didn’t look like they were really interested in playing and beating somebody. That’s really unusual.”

Carolina thrashed College of Charleston on Wednesday night and has a huge game Sunday night at Wake Forest.

Bilas said the Deacons are as talented as anyone he’s seen, but they are just younger.

He also said Boston College didn’t do Wake any favors by beating Carolina, which will only ratchet up the Tar Heels’ intensity in the coming games.

Bilas, a former Duke player, will appear every Thursday on The Fan.
