So why is Scott running for Man of the Year?

After 16 years of broadcasting in four different cities, Scott has been involved in many charitable events, but none as personal and as challenging as this campaign with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Scott's grandmother, Jane Jackson, died of lymphoma in October of 2004. Her death came just weeks after being diagnosed.

Since the move here to the Triangle, the Jackson's have met plenty of great friends and enjoyed the less hectic lifestyle they left in the Washington DC area. Over the last year and a half, the disease has hit close to home in their Cary neighborhood. The Morlocks' son, Charlie, was diagnosed with LLS at the age of four years old in 2007. Two years later he is doing better, but too many other children his age are not and money for research is still needed.

As a result of their neighbors' son and his close relationship with his grandmother, Scott and his family agreed to get involved in the Man of the Year fundraising campaign for LLS.
