After leading the pack following round two with an 8-under par, Raleigh native Chesson Hadley fell to fourth after round three.
Hadley shot a two-under 69 Saturday for the second straight day. He trails the leader Danny Lee by six strokes, Lee is sitting in front at 17-under for the weekend.
Hadley capped an 8-under 63 Thursday with three birdies on Friday for a 69 and sits atop the leaderboard by a stroke after 36 holes.
Hadley held the lead through most of the day Thursday, but finished that first round in second place. He was tied for the lead as the day neared its end Friday, but a bogey on 18 by Jason Gore sent Hadley to the weekend with the low mark.
Hadley currently ranks eighth on the Web.com Tour’s money list. At the end of the 2013 season, the top 25 players graduate to the PGA Tour. A win in Raleigh this weekend would secure Hadley a spot on the PGA Tour.
The Georgia Tech product has finished in the top six in three of the last four Web.com Tour events and tied a tour record with six birdies and an eagle in nine holes last month in South Carolina.
Hadley attended North Raleigh Christian Academy in high school.
