ACC announces student-athletes attending 2013 ACC Football Kickoff

— The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Thursday the names of the 28 football student-athletes who have been chosen by its 14 league schools to attend the 2013 Atlantic Coast Conference Football Kickoff, July 21-22 at the Grandover Resort located in Greensboro, N.C.

North Carolina quarterback Bryn Renner will make his second straight appearance at the Kickoff with teammate and defensive end Kareem Martin.  Duke is sending quarterback Anthony Boone, a redshirt junior out of Monroe, N.C., and cornerback Russ Cockrell, a redshirt senior out of Waxhaw.

To round out the Triangle schools, senior wide receiver Rashard Smith and conerback Dontae Johnson will be in attendance for North Carolina State.

This marks the first year that Syracuse and Pittsburgh will participate in the ACC Kickoff as new members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. 

Among the offensive players in attendance will be seven quarterbacks, three offensive linemen and four wide receivers. Defensively, four defensive ends, two defensive tackles, four linebackers and four defensive backs will be on hand.

In all, the ACC Kickoff student-athletes hail from 11 states and the District of Columbia, with seven from Virginia, five from North Carolina, three each from Pennsylvania and Georgia, two from Florida and New York and one each from California, Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, Tennessee and the District of Columbia.

The football student-athletes who will be attending the 2013 ACC Football Kickoff are:

    I agree. All of these guys carry themselves well on and off of the field.
