After ECU's ugly start, Sirk tapped as QB

Greenville, N.C. — After Saturday's bitter loss to the James Madison Dukes, 34-14, East Carolina head football coach Scottie Montgomery is ready for a change at quarterback.
Thomas Sirk, who subbed in for junior Gardner Minshew and completed 21 of 35 passes for 210 yards will start against West Virginia.
"I feel that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over, and expecting a different result," Montgomery said Monday at his weekly press conference. "Well, we're not going to do the same things over and over. We're going to have changes. The first change that we will have is that Thomas Sirk will be our starter."
