The Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday announced that Steve Keim, a former All-ACC guard at North Carolina State, will take over as the team's general manager.
Keim has worked in Arizona for 14 years and served as the team's vice president for player personnel in 2012 after serving for years in the scouting department.
Keim's first order of business will be finding a head coach after the Cardinals fired Ken Whisenhunt at the end of a disappointing 2012 season that included a 1-11 stretch in the team's final 12 games.
At NC State, Keim started 36 consecutive games for the Wolfpack in the early 1990s. During his senior season in 1994, Keim was the team offensive line most valuable player and was named third-team All-American from Gameplan magazine.
Before beginning work as a scout in 1999, Keim spent time with the Miami Dolphins and Edmonton Eskimos (Canadian Football League).
