Time Warner Cable Arena to host Checkers-Bobcats doubleheader

Charlotte, N.C. — The Charlotte Checkers and Charlotte Bobcats will play a double-header on Saturday, April 7, at the Time Warner Cable Arena, Bobcats Sports and Entertainment President and COO Fred Whitfield announced Friday.

In a first-of-its-kind doubleheader the Checkers will play the Abbotsford Heat at 12:00 p.m. followed by the Bobcats hosting the Atlanta Hawks at 8:00 p.m.

“We’re excited to be able to offer our fans an unprecedented day of sports action at Time Warner Cable Arena,” Whitfield said. “With the Checkers playing in the afternoon and the Bobcats that night, Time Warner Cable Arena will undoubtedly be the place to be in Charlotte on April 7.”

The Checkers game was previously scheduled for Friday, April 6, but is being moved back a day to accommodate the rescheduling of the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at Time Warner Cable Arena for the same night. The Bobcats contest is pushed back an hour from its original start time.
