Boychuck returns to Canes via waiver wire

Posted March 21, 2013

Forward Zach Boychuk will make a return to the Carolina Hurricanes after the team claimed him off waivers Thursday from Nashville.

Boychuk, 23, appeared in Carolina’s season opener on Jan. 19 against the Florida Panthers and was then a healthy extra for four games before being placed on waivers and subsequently claimed by Pittsburgh on Jan. 31.

In five games with the Predators, Boychuk has a goal and an assist.  He's played 13 total NHL games this season with Carolina, Pittsburgh and Nashville.
