BSB: Red wins Game Two, 10-4

Raleigh, N.C. — In game two of NC State baseball’s fall world series, Red defeated White 10-4 in seven innings on Sunday afternoon at Doak Field at Dail Park.
Freshman Kyle Cavanaugh led the winning squad with a 3-for-4 outing including an RBI to score Will Nance in the seventh. Fellow freshman Andrew Knizner started at third and scored three times in an 0-for-2 game.
Luke Voiron and Logan Ratledge had the other two multi-hit performances for Red. Ratledge went 2-for-4 with a run after hitting a first inning double to the left field corner. Voiron went 2-for-3 with two runs, an RBI, and a walk. Brett Austin had a pair of RBIs and a run in a 1-for-3 day.
For White, freshman Markel Jones turned in a 2-for-3, one RBI effort. Bubby Riley and Brian Taylor each threw out runners at the plate from left and right field, respectively. Riley also knocked a double to the wall in right to drive in Jake Armstrong in the third.
Carlos Rodon drew the start for White, but did not factor in the decision after allowing three earned on four hits in 3 2/3 innings with five strikeouts and four walks. In the batter’s box, Rodon has gone 3-for-6 with three singles.
NC State returns to the field for game three of the fall world series on Tuesday, November 5 at 4:15 p.m.
