Durham, N.C. — The Durham Bulls dropped the opener of a three-game set to the Norfolk Tides, 2-1 Tuesday night at the DBAP.
Knotted at 1-1 in the top of the eighth inning, Norfolk’s Dariel Alvarez led off with a double and came around to score on an RBI single from Francisco Peguero for the go-ahead run. The Bulls scored the game’s first run, as Cole Figueroa walked to lead off the fourth inning, advanced to third on a Mikie Mahtook double and scored on Tim Beckham’s RBI ground out to second base.
Norfolk countered in the top of the fifth though, as Julio Borbon singled to lead off the frame and later scored on Alvarez’s double.
