Bulls, PawSox vie for series lead

Posted September 13, 2013

The Durham Bulls and Pawtucket Red Sox meet in a rubber game Friday night in the best-of-five Governor's Cup Finals series. The first pitch at  Pawtucket's McCoy Stadium is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

The Sox won Game 1 and Bulls took Game 2, both on late-game rallies.

Two right-handers will start Friday's game. Durham is 14-3 in Matt Buschmann starts, but it will be his first postseason start for the Bulls. In four career playoff starts, Buschmann is 1-2.

The Sox will start Matt Barnes, who has taken the mound for Pawtucket just once, in an Aug. 29 win over Syracuse. Barnes has a 4.13 ERA on the season after starting the year in Portland.
