Durham, NC- The loss ended the Bulls' seven-game winning streak.The Toledo Mud Hens scored ten runs against the Bulls bullpen, including six in the ninth inning to overcome a one-run deficit and defeat the Durham Bulls 10-5 on Tuesday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
Trailing 5-4 entering the top of the ninth, Jarrod Patterson hit a leadoff home run to tie the score. Jacob Cruz followed with a triple and scored on a single by Chris Wakeland to give the Mud Hens the lead. After a pitching change, Eric Munson hit a three-run home run to put the game out of reach.
Emil Brown gave the Bulls a 5-4 lead with a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning. Brown finished 3-for-4 including a double. Andy Sheets added two hits including a solo home run in the fourth inning.
RHP Oscar Henriquez (2-1) was the winning pitcher after throwing a scoreless ninth inning. RHP Brian Moehler, on a rehab assignment with Toledo, allowed seven hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out three in six innings.
RHP Travis Phelps (2-2) took the loss after allowing four runs (earned) on three hits while only retiring one batter in the ninth. Starter Jason Standridge pitched six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
