Nick Green, Wilson Betemit and Adam LaRoche both finished with a pair of RBI in the Richmond Braves 8-4 victory over the Durham Bulls.
Charlotte lost 3-2 at Norfolk, so the Bulls lead remains at two games with nine games left in the season.
Green opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the first inning. Betemit singled home a run in the first inning and ripped an RBI double
in the third. LaRoche connected on a two-run homer in the fourth to close out the scoring for Richmond, which snapped a five-game losing streak. Travis Phelps (8-5) allowed three runs, scattered seven hits and struck out eight in seven innings for the win.
George Lombard and Jorge Cantu both finished with a pair of RBI for Durham, which dropped to 3-4 on its current road trip. Carlos Reyes (10-3) was shelled for eight runs and 11 hits in four innings for the loss.
