Durham, N.C. — All-Star third baseman Evan Longoria made his second rehab start in Durham Friday night. He is playing with the Bulls while he tries to heal a hamstring injury.
"It's been really tough to watch," he said of his Rays teammates who, at 55-50 are trying to claw their way into an American League Wild Card spot.
The Rays have won four of their last five, making Longoria's wait a bit easier to take.
"That makes it easier to know that they're starting to pick up some steam and playing like I know they can," he said.
Longoria said he'd likely play as the designated hitter when he returns to Tampa.
