Canes add goalie to fill injured Lack's spot

The Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday called goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic up to fill the vacancy left when Eddie Lack was injured Monday night.
Ron Francis, the team's executive vice president and general manager, said Nedeljkovic, 21, would be an emergency replacement.
Lack was in goal Monday when the Detroit Red Wings' Andreas Athanasiou crashed into him in overtime.
Athanasiou secured the win for Detroit and Lack left on a stretcher.
In a statement late Monday, the Hurricanes said Lack had "full feeling in his extremities." He was under observation at Rex Hospital.
Nedeljkovic played for the Hurricanes Jan. 17 against Columbus, and made 17 saves on 17 shots faced in a 4-1 loss.
Carolina drafted the Parma, Ohio, native in the second round, 37th overall, in the 2014 NHL Draft.
