Canes reassign Jordan to Charlotte

Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned defenseman Michal Jordan (MIH-kahl yohr-DAHN) to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Jordan, 23, was a healthy extra for tonight’s game against the New York Rangers. He has totaled three goals and 12 assists (15 points) in 53 AHL games for Charlotte this season. A native of Zlin, Czech Republic, Jordan ranks third among Checkers defensemen in scoring and second in goals this season. Selected by the Hurricanes in the fourth round (105th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Jordan (6’1”, 195 lbs.) made his NHL debut for Carolina last season and has appeared in five career games for the Hurricanes.
The Hurricanes host the Buffalo Sabres at PNC Arena on Thursday at 7 p.m.
