Canes recall Tim Wallace from Charlotte

The Carolina Hurricanes recalled forward Tim Wallace from the Charlotte Checkers Wednesday, President and General Manager Jim Rutherford announced.
Earlier Wednesday Wallace was assigned to Charlotte for the Checkers playoffs starting on Friday.
Wallace, 28, has scored one goal and earned one assist (2 points) in 26 NHL regular-season games with Carolina this season.
The Anchorage, AK, native also scored nine goals and earned 13 assists (22 points) in 47 AHL games this season with Charlotte. In 99 career NHL games, Wallace (6’1”, 207 lbs.) has notched four goals and earned nine assists (13 points) with Pittsburgh, the New York Islanders, Tampa Bay and Carolina. He joined the Hurricanes organization as a free agent on July 19, 2012.
The Carolina Hurricanes host the New York Rangers on Thursday at PNC Arena (7 p.m., FOX Sports Carolinas, Hurricanes Radio Network) in their final home game of the 2012-13 season.
