Canes scrimmage in preparation for season opener

— Although real hockey is still a few days away, the Carolina Hurricanes continued their preseason work Tuesday with a Red/White scrimmage at Raleigh Center Ice. 

The teams, comprised of both Hurricanes and a few members of the Charlotte Checkers called up to help, played three 18-minute periods in what will serve as the only preseason "game" before Carolina opens the season Saturday in Florida.

    I agree, a nice crowd in there for sure. The guys looked good, I really like Eric Staal and Semin they looked like they were clicking already!

    Place was PACKED, hard to find parking...but so worth the drive! What other sport can you get this up close and personal with elite athletes?
