— As the United States prepares to take on Portugal in their second game at the 2014 FIFA World Cup on Sunday, the Town of Cary is preparing to host a watch party at WakeMed Soccer Park.

Cary will be hosting the event in conjunction with the Carolina RailHawks and Backyard Bistro.

This will be the second watch party in as many games for the Men’s National Team as over 1,000 fans attended the United States’ 2-1 victory over Ghana on Monday.

The match will be displayed on a 38 feet by 20 feet, state-of-the-art videoboard in the south end zone.

"This is a huge match for the USA and it deserves to be watched on the biggest screen you can find,” said Triangle Soccer Fanatics President, Jarrett Campbell. “After experiencing the atmosphere at WakeMed Soccer Park during the USA’s World Cup opening victory, the Triangle Soccer Fanatics can’t wait to cheer on the Yanks with other passionate U.S. soccer supporters."

The event is free to the general public with a full concessions menu available at 5 p.m. by Backyard Bistro.

I remember the basic editing guidelines from school long ago.

    When.... WHEN IS IT????

went to the viewing party for the usa vs ghana game. it was great and a lot of fun, but one really important suggestion: open both gates to the park!!! driving out of the park with only the main gate open was awful.
