Teams have go-to plays when they enter the fringe red zone. The fringe red zone is 20 yards and in, which still gives an offense 30 yards of vertical play.
When an offense enters the red zone a defense will most likely fall into Tampa 2 coverage or cover 4 and there are three main plays an offense will run.
There is the all-go principal, the smash principal and the pop or post play with an option.
