(Friday, January 10th)

Final Score: Siena 67, Marist 58

Albany, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Brett Bisping registered a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 14 rebounds as the Siena Saints topped the Marist Red Foxes, 67-58, in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at the Times Union Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the Saints (7-9, 3-2 MAAC) were Evan Hymes with a team-best 17 points off the bench, followed by Rob Poole with 15, although the latter shot just 3-of-10 from the floor as the team picked up a second straight win and the fourth in five tries.

Khallid Hart tallied a game-high 22 points for Marist (5-10, 2-3), knocking down 4-of-8 shots from behind the 3-point line, while Jay Bowie and Chavaughn Lewis each dropped in 11 points as the squad had a five-game win streak come to an end.

The Red Foxes led by as many as five in the first half, but the team shot only 5-of-24 from the field over the first 20 minutes of action, leaving them with a 32-25 deficit at the break. Marist knocked down only 2-of-10 beyond the arc in the frame, compared to 1-of-6 for the hosts. Siena connected on 15-of-18 at the free-throw line in the period in order to offset just 8-of-25 accuracy from the field.

The second half saw Marist improve to 48.1 percent from the floor, but the visitors were outscored at the charity stripe again, this time by a 14-3 margin, as the Saints held on for the win.

Siena made good on only 38.6 percent from the field on the night, but compensated by forcing 15 turnovers and producing a 29-16 scoring edge at the free-throw line.
