NCAA Game Summary - Citadel at VMI

(Friday, November 8th)

Final Score: VMI 82, Citadel 71

Lexington, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - QJ Peterson scored 25 points as host VMI knocked off The Citadel, 82-71, in the second game of the All-Military Classic tournament.

Rodney Glasgow added 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists for VMI (1-0), which will face Air Force (1-0) in Saturday's final. D.J. Covington and Jordan Weethee each had 10 points for the Keydets. Weethee also snagged 11 rebounds.

The Citadel (0-1) went into the half with a 38-37 lead. However, after gaining control of the lead with 11:01 left on two made free throws by Jarid Watson, VMI then used a 27-10 second-half run to grab a 78-60 advantage and break the game wide open.

VMI's defense caused 20 turnovers in the contest, leading to The Citadel's second-half demise.

VMI's win avenges last year's 84-76 loss to The Citadel in the same tournament.

The Citadel's Brian White finished the game with a team-high 21 points and nine rebounds. Matt Van Scyoc finished with 16 points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Also scoring in double digits for the Bulldogs were Marshall Harris III with 11 points and Ashton Moore, who finished with 10 points and five assists.

The Citadel will face Army in tomorrow's consolation game.
