GAME NOTES: Wofford and Samford kick off their Southern Conference slate Thursday at the Pete Hanna Center.

Wofford is coming off a thorough 81-53 blowout win over High Point on Monday. At one point in the first half, the Terriers rattled off 15 straight points en route to a 23-point lead at the break, then cruised from there.

Karl Cochran, who eclipsed the 1,000-point mark in his career during the game, had a productive 23-point, 10-rebound performance, while Lee Skinner also had a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.

Defense has been the Terriers' calling card recently, as they have held their last three opponents under 40 percent shooting, the last two resulting in victories. For the season, teams are shooting 43.2 percent from the field against Wofford and just 28.6 percent from behind the arc. Spencer Collins leads the team with 13.8 ppg, while Cochran is adding 11.4 to go along with 5.3 rebounds per game. Skinner has pulled down a team-best 7.7 rebounds per game, while nearly scoring in double figures (9.8 ppg).

Samford is also fresh off a Monday win, besting Presbyterian, 71-59. The Bulldogs started slow and trailed by 10 points in the first half before Presbyterian went cold, hitting just 29.6 percent from the field in the second half. Tim Williams carried the load for the offense as he erupted for a career-high 31 points on an incredibly efficient 14-of-16 shooting display.

Williams has been producing that way all season, though, so it should not come as a surprise. The sophomore forward is connecting on 62.0 percent from the field over the first 14 games and leads the team in scoring (17.2 ppg) and rebounding (6.9 rpg). Isaiah Williams checks in with 12.3 points and 3.3 assists per game, while Raijon Kelly ranks third on the team in scoring at 10.9 ppg. Isaiah Williams has missed the last three games due to a groin injury, but might be ready come game time.

With the freshman guard back in the fold, the Bulldogs will certainly be favored to upend the Terriers for a third straight time. Without him, Samford is basically a one-trick pony on the offensive side, and Wofford should have enough to sneak out a road win.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Wofford 65, Samford 60
