GAME NOTES: With two games remaining on the regular seasons schedule, the Rider Broncs will look to put an end to their two-game skid starting with a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup against the Canisius Golden Griffins at Alumni Gymnasium.

Canisius has won three of its last four games, including a 90-78 victory over Fairfield on Saturday. The Golden Griffins are sitting on a 13-5 record in the MAAC with two games left to play. They are three games back on conference leader Iona.

Rider has lost two games in a row and five of its last six altogether. The Broncs were taken down by Siena, 69-60, in their last outing, and will try to pick up two wins at the tail end of their schedule.

Rider has a firm grip on the all-time series lead over Canisius, 30-9. The Golden Griffins escaped an earlier season matchup with the Broncs on Jan. 10, in which Canisius won on its home floor, 91-84, in double overtime.

Fairfield gave Canisius quite a scare on Saturday, as the Stags led 45-38 at the end of the first half. But the Golden Griffins came stampeding back in the second frame with 52 points to take the win away from Fairfield. Billy Baron netted 22 points - 16 on foul shots - with nine assists to pace Canisius, while Zach Lewis added 21 points of his own. Chris Perez scored 13 points, and Jordan Heath and Phil Valenti each contributed 11 points in the victory.

Baron is having a phenomenal season for the Golden Griffins, as the Rhode Island transfer is tearing up the MAAC in 2014. His 24.8 ppg is more than 10 points greater than anyone else on the Golden Griffins' roster. Baron also leads the team in assists (147), steals (45), and is third in team rebounding with a 5.1 rpg average. Perez checks in behind Baron in scoring with 12.5 ppg, and Heath is third at 10.3 ppg with a team-best 63 blocked shots.

Rider held a 28-24 lead over Siena at the half in Sunday's conference bout. But the Saints came storming back at Alumni Gymnasium in New Jersey to take the lead and hold on for the win. Jimmie Taylor led the Broncs in the contest with 15 points, adding five rebounds. Daniel Stewart chipped in 12 points and led the team with eight rebounds in the losing effort. Rider shot just 33.3 percent from the floor, and went 4-of-22 from beyond the 3-point arc.

Anthony Myles, who scored just five points in Rider's loss to Siena, still leads the team in scoring this season with a 16.2 ppg average. Stewart is second at 15.3 ppg with a team-leading 6.1 rpg mark, and Taylor checks in at third with an 11.9 ppg average. Zedric Saddler leads the Broncs with 84 assists on the year.

Canisius, led by Baron, has been one of the more prominent scoring teams in the conference this season. In the Golden Griffins' last three losses, their opponents have had to score well over 80 points in order to keep pace. The Broncs, even at home, likely won't be able to match Canisius' point production.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Canisius 85, Rider 76
