NCAA Game Summary - Binghamton at Syracuse

(Saturday, December 7th)

Final Score: (4) Syracuse 93, Binghamton 65

Syracuse, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - C.J. Fair dropped 19 points as fourth- ranked Syracuse routed Binghamton, 93-65, from Carrier Dome.

Trevor Cooney made five 3-pointers en route to 17 points for Syracuse (9-0), which won its 48th straight non-conference home tilt.

"It feels good," said Cooney. "I'm just staying positive and when teammates are setting good screens for you and giving you an open spot, you just have to get it down and it's easy from there."

Jerami Grant tallied 14 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Orange, while DaJuan Coleman netted 13 points with 10 boards on 5-of-6 shooting.

"We made a good effort with the full court defense and established enough room to get some guys some minutes," said Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim. "It is a good learning experience."

Jordan Reed led Binghamton (2-7) with a game-high 26 points in the setback. Marlon Beck and Nick Madray added 14 and 11 points, respectively, as the Bearcats lost for the fifth time in six games.

Alex Ogundadegbe netted five points in the final 1:06 for Binghamton. Prior to that, the Bearcats' bench was scoreless. Syracuse reserves outscored their counterparts, 38-5.

Binghamton jumped out to an early 11-3 edge after consecutive treys by Madray, but Cuse quickly asserted itself, running off 18 in a row for a 21-11 lead before Beck halted the surge with a jumper. Cooney netted eight points during the charge.

The Bearcats went cold for the rest of the half against the Orange zone. Meanwhile, Syracuse was dominant on the boards, grabbing 13 offensive rebounds in the period to Binghamton's 12 total rebounds. Cooney and Fair had 14 apiece as the hosts carried a commanding 54-30 lead into the break.

Cooney and Fair hit 3s on the front and back end of an 8-0 Syracuse run early in the second half. The Orange cruised the rest of the way.
