GAME NOTES: The CollegeInsider.com soldiers on to the second round on Saturday afternoon, as the Wright State Raiders square off against the Ohio Bobcats at the Convocation Center.

Wright State improved to 21-14 this season following its first-round victory over East Carolina, 73-59, its seven win in the past eight games. In a bout the Raiders led wire-to-wire, they shot a lofty 61.4 percent from the field (including 9-of-15 from 3-point range) and held ECU to only 40 percent shooting (4-of-23 from beyond the arc). AJ Pacher was nearly perfect en route to his game-high 20 points, shooting 8-of-9 from the field. Matt Vest tallied 12 points, six rebounds and five assists, while Reggie Arceneaux and Cole Darling poured in 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Ohio (24-11) survived its first round matchup with Cleveland State (64-62) to give it at least 24 wins for the third consecutive season after going the previous 16 seasons without accomplishing that feat. The Bobcats were locked up in a tight battle throughout with the Vikings, as the contest went through 13 ties and 12 lead changes, but with the game tied at 62 with just four seconds left, Antonio Campbell drew a foul and drained a pair of free throws to lift the team to victory. Campbell finished with a career-high 21 points, shooting 6-of-11 from the field and 9-of-10 at the foul line. Treg Setty and Stevie Taylor both scored 13 and Nick Kellogg handed out six assists.

These intrastate rivals have met 10 times before, with the Bobcats holding a comfortable 8-2 advantage.

On the season, Wright State has been defined by its stout play on the defensive end of the court, as it allows only 62.2 ppg on 42.4 percent field goal shooting while boasting a strong +2.6 turnover margin. On offense the squad shoots an impressive 46 percent from the floor, but its deliberate pace allows for only 67.6 ppg. Pacher (11.3 ppg) was an All-Horizon League Second Team selection and makes field goals at 60.9 percent efficiency. No one else scores in double figures but four others net at least 8.0 ppg and a total of nine players score 5.1 ppg or more.

Ohio has experienced well-rounded success on the campaign, as it outshoots its opponents from the field, 45.7 percent to 41.1 percent, for a +4.8 scoring margin. It also knocks down 71.4 percent of its free-throw tries but lives in the red in terms of its turnover margin (-0.4). Kellogg is the catalyst with 15.4 ppg on stellar percentages from the field (.461), 3-point range (.386) and the free-throw line (.889). Maurice Ndour is an imposing presence in the paint with 13.7 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 1.6 bpg, while Jon Smith (7.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.6 bpg) joins him in the frontcourt.

In a showdown between two well-matched teams, expect Ohio to have the edge on its home floor considering its success at the Convocation Center (13-6) paired against Wright State's struggles on the road (5-11).

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Ohio 65, Wright State 63
