Chapel Hill, NC (Sports Network) - Reggie Bullock recorded a double-double to
lift the North Carolina Tar Heels over the NC State Wolfpack, 76-65, in an
instate, Atlantic Coast Conference showdown at the Dean E. Smith Center.
Bullock knocked down five 3-pointers and had 22 points and 13 rebounds for the
Tar Heels (19-8, 9-5 ACC). P.J. Hairston added 12 points while Marcus Paige
and James Michael McAdoo managed 14 each. Paige also dished out eight assists
while McAdoo had seven rebounds but six turnovers. It was the third straight
win for UNC after a two-game slump.
NC State (19-8, 8-6) had three players record double-doubles while Scott Wood
led the squad in scoring with 19 points by hitting five 3-pointers himself.
Richard Howell (17 rebounds, 13 points), Lorenzo Brown (12 assists, 12
points), and T.J. Warren (10 points, 10 rebounds) all contributed double-
double performances in a losing effort for the Wolfpack which saw a three-game
win streak end.
UNC led 34-28 at halftime after holding NC State to 40.0 percent shooting from
the field and 2-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc.
In the second half the Tar Heels knocked down 5-of-9 3-point attempts and shot
nearly 45.0 percent from the floor to outlast the Pack.
The Wolfpack's 17 turnovers in the game is what cost NC State the rivalry
game.
