Clarksville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarvis Williams scored a career-high 26 points and hauled in 13 rebounds, as the Murray State Racers outlasted the Austin Peay Governors, 96-88, in Ohio Valley Conference action at the Dunn Center.

Williams shot 11-of-15 from the field for Murray State (13-8, 8-1 OVC), winners of three in a row. Dexter Fields scored 19 points, T.J. Sapp poured in 15, Jeffery Moss netted 14 and Cameron Payne registered 12 points and 12 assists.

For APSU (9-13, 3-5), Ed Dyson and Chris Horton both scored 19 points, while Travis Betran and Damarius Smith had 14 points apiece. Smith also contributed seven assists and six rebounds for the hosts.

Murray State ran out to a 45-37 lead at halftime after shooting a lofty 55.6 percent from the field in the opening stanza, while APSU made less than 40 percent of its field goal tries.

The Governors battled back in the second half and held a two-point lead, 80-78, with 5:16 remaining after Betran drained a 3-pointer. The Racers proceeded to scored seven unanswered points, however, and put the game away by making 4-of-4 at the foul line in the final 18 seconds.

Murray State's clutch free throws late were a pleasant surprise considering it was just 8-of-17 from the line on the night. The Racers outscored the Governors from 3-point range, 30-9.
