GAME NOTES: The Wright State Raiders will close out a road trip on a high note, when they visit the Miami-Ohio RedHawks in a non-league scuffle at Millett Hall.

The first three legs of Wright State's recent journey all ended in losses. The trip began with a 74-69 setback at Morehead State and continued with subsequent losses to North Carolina A&T (62-59) and VMI (94-74). The Raiders, who had won back-to-back games prior to the trip, are now 5-6. Wright State will enjoy a four-game homestand next, beginning with Eastern Illinois.

Following its first win of the season Miami-Ohio did not provide much of an encore, losing to Evansville last Saturday in a 78-65 final. The RedHawks are now just 1-5 on the campaign, though they have split their only two home games. Miami-Ohio won't be home long as it visits UMKC and Tennessee State in its next two contests.

A 67-59 victory for Wright State last season gave it three straight wins against the RedHawks. Miami-Ohio still leads the all-time series, 17-11.

Wright State was torched from beyond the arc in its loss to VMI. The Raiders were outscored by an astounding 51-9 margin from 3-point range during the contest. Wright State did hit 45.8 percent of its overall shots, but it was not nearly enough to make up the difference.

The Raiders are the second best shooting team in the Horizon League. Wright State has connected on 47.9 percent of its attempts from the floor, but that has still led to a middling scoring average (73.8 ppg). A.J. Pacher (11.4 ppg, 5 rpg) is the Raiders' lead scorer. He is one of three players averaging in double figures and is connecting on better than 70 percent of his attempts from the field. However, he is only playing 20.4 minutes per game. Miles Dixon (10.3 ppg) and JT Yoho (10 ppg) are the next best options.

Miami wasn't thoroughly dominated from long range by Evansville, but still wound up on the losing end. The RedHawks shot at just a 39-percent clip from the field and were the victims of a 42-25 deficit on the boards. Reggie Johnson had a nice game in the losing effort with 21 points and eight assists.

Efficient scoring is not something Miami has been able to accomplish much this season. The RedHawks are connecting on only 39.9 percent of their attempts from the field, scoring just under 65 points per game. Miami also doesn't produce much on the glass, grabbing only 32.2 rebounds a contest. Will Felder (13.8 ppg, 6.2 rpg) currently leads the team in both scoring and rebounding. Johnson (13.5 ppg) is a close second in the scoring column for the RedHawks, despite shooting at just a 37.3-percent clip. Geovonie McKnight (10.2 ppg) rounds out the double-figure scorers.
