GAME NOTES: The Weber State Wildcats will try to lengthen a three-game win streak as they host the Montana State Bobcats in Big Sky Conference action at Dee Events Center.

After a three-game win streak, Montana State has lost two of its last three contests, including a close 72-69 defeat at the hands of North Dakota Saturday in Big Sky play. The Bobcats are 4-2 in the conference this season - just a game back of first place.

Weber State, with its most recent win - a 65-59 victory over Idaho State in conference play - is now tied for the Big Sky Conference lead at 5-1. The Wildcats are trying to extend their current three-game win streak as they host their third of four consecutive home games.

Weber State has the advantage in the all-time series between the two programs, 75-36, and won the most recent matchup last season. It's the first of two regular-season meetings between the Bobcats and Wildcats this season.

North Dakota built an 11-point lead in the second half against Montana State in Bozeman Saturday, and never surrendered the lead as the Bobcats lost, 72-69. Flavien Davis led Montana State with 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor. Paul Egwuonwu chipped in 14 points, as together he and Davis were the only Bobcats in double-digits for point totals. Montana State shot an impressive 51.1 percent from the floor, but could only outscore North Dakota 31-30 in the second-half comeback attempt.

Davis leads the Bobcats this season in scoring as the only Montana State player to average double figures. Davis nets 11.8 ppg this season on 46.9 percent shooting from the floor. Egwuonwu is second on the team with 9.5 ppg, but a team-best 7.2 rpg. Guard Marcus Colbert leads Montana State with 58 assists on the season and a team-high 83.3 percent shooting mark from the free-throw line.

Weber State gained a lead against Idaho State in the latter half of the first frame and would never trail again, besting the Bengals, 65-59. The Wildcats hit a season-high 12 3-pointers in the Big Sky win. Davion Berry led Weber State with 23 points and six assists, connecting on 4-of-8 from 3-point range in the contest. Jordan Richardson netted 18 points, and Kyle Tresnak secured 11 rebounds in the win. The Wildcats shot 40.8 percent from the floor.

Berry has been the guiding force for Weber State this season, averaging 16.9 ppg on 45.1 percent shooting from the field. He also leads the team in total assists with 50 through 14 games, and 14 steals. Jeremy Senglin is second on the squad with 10.6 ppg, and Tresnak is third at 10.4 ppg. Joel Bolomboy, in his 13 games played this season, averages 10 rpg to lead the Wildcats.

Davis versus Berry should be a fun matchup for Big Sky basketball fans. Davis could use some help against a defense giving up just 64.9 ppg. Weber State's 5-1 conference record is in some jeopardy, but in the end the Wildcats' defense should get the job done.
