(Saturday, February 8th)

Final Score: Western Kentucky 79, Arkansas-Little Rock 78

Little Rock, AR (SportsNetwork.com) - Trency Jackson knocked down 20 points, including the buzzer-beating, 3-point winner as the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers slipped past the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans, 79-78, in Sun Belt Conference play at the Jack Stephens Center.

Brandon Harris netted 15 points for the Hilltoppers (16-7, 8-2 SBC), who won their sixth straight game. T.J. Price added 12 points in the victory.

Josh Hagins matched the game-high with 20 points for the Trojans (12-12, 7-5), who lost in back-to-back games. James White and Leroy Isler logged 14 and 13 points, respectively. Ben Dillard and Mareik Isom both contributed 11 points.

The Hilltoppers shot 44.8 percent from the field in the first half, slightly better than the Trojans' 40.9 percent, and they took a 36-32 lead into halftime.

In the second half the Trojans shot a confident 62.5 percent from the floor, including 4-of-4 from the perimeter. At the other end, while the Hilltoppers shot just 39.3 percent, they sank five 3-pointers and also got to the line where they converted 16-of-23. After Hagins hit one of his two free throws to put UALR up two with three seconds left, Jackson responded for WKU, getting off the winning shot from beyond the arc as time expired.

WKU outrebounded the hosts 36-29 and got 25 points from bench players in the victory.
