Guilderland, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Mark Nwakamma and Taylor Dyson each scored 19 points to lead the third-seeded Hartford Hawks past the sixth-seeded Binghamton Bearcats, 69-42, in the quarterfinal round of the America East Tournament at SEFCU Arena.

Nwakamma recorded six blocked shots and five rebounds for Hartford (17-15), which will advance to play second-seeded Stony Brook on Sunday in the semifinal round of the conference tournament. Evan Cooper chipped in 12 points off the bench for the Hawks in the win.

Yosef Yacob tallied 10 points to lead Binghamton (7-23), while Jordan Reed grabbed a team-high five rebounds and recorded two steals. The Bearcats shot a dismal 28.6 percent from the floor in the loss.

Hartford came out firing in the first half, knocking down 54.5 percent of its shots from the floor, including 6-of-10 from 3-point range. The Hawks took a 31-20 lead into the intermission after Binghamton connected on 29.2 percent of its field goal attempts, including 3-of-12 from deep.

The Hawks just barely dipped down in the second half with a 50 percent shooting performance, although they made just 3-of-11 from 3-point distance. Hartford did add 11-of-17 from the free-throw line in the period. The Bearcats dropped their accuracy down to 28 percent in the half, and fell behind Hartford's lead by an additional 16 points.

The Hawks owned 26-10 edges in both points in the paint and points off turnovers, and held a 16-6 advantage in bench scoring.
