GAME NOTES: A pair of winless teams meet on the final day of the Philly Classic, as the NJIT Highlanders duel with the Monmouth Hawks at The Palestra. The Highlanders not only haven't posted a win this season, but they have lost all four of their games by double figures. On Friday, NJIT took on Hartford at The Palestra only to suffer a 50-38 setback. It marked the fourth straight game in which the team failed to even score 50 points. As for Monmouth, it has already played six games without notching a win. The team was in action just yesterday, dropping a 71-48 decision to Niagara. It marked the Hawks' fifth straight game in which they were defeated by 19 or more points. Today's contest represents the first-ever clash between NJIT and Monmouth on the hardwood.

The Highlanders shot a horrific 25.5 percent from the field, including a dismal 6-of-23 showing from behind the arc, as they were downed by Hartford on Friday. The squad didn't have much success at the charity stripe either, going 4-of-9 on the day. Jheryl Wilson paced NJIT in the setback with 16 points and three steals, while Gary Garris turned in nine points and 12 rebounds. On the year, Garris is the only player on the roster averaging in double figures, with 13.5 ppg. As a team, the Highlanders are putting forth just 41.2 ppg and they are shooting a poor 27.6 percent from the floor.

Much like NJIT, Monmouth couldn't get many of its shots to go done yesterday, hitting just 28.1 percent from the floor in a lopsided loss to Niagara. The team was even worse from three-point range, connecting on only 3-of-23 chances. Travis Taylor and Mike Myers Keitt each had eight points to lead the team in defeat. Despite not having started a single game, Taylor leads the Hawks in scoring (11.4 ppg) and rebounding (6.6 rpg) on the season. Keitt is second in order at 10.8 ppg and R.J. Rutledge chips in with 10.4 ppg for Monmouth, which is averaging 60.4 ppg on the year.

The Hawks haven't had any success, but they have at least shown some life, so go with them since they are the better offensive team.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Monmouth 66, NJIT 46
