GAME NOTES: The Manhattan Jaspers will try to get themselves back into the win column on Tuesday night, as they tangle with the Saint Peter's Peacocks in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference bout at Draddy Coliseum.

The game was originally scheduled to be played on Monday, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

Manhattan dropped an 85-73 decision to Iona on Friday night. The loss was the second straight and third in the last four games for the Jaspers, who are still a solid 14-6 overall, which includes a 7-4 mark in MAAC play, which has them tied for third place in the league standings. A crucial three-game road trip awaits them next, beginning at Canisius.

Saint Peter's has been struggling even more of late, with losses in four straight contests following a 71-53 setback at home against Rider on Friday night. The Peacocks are 7-13 overall, with a 3-8 ledger in conference play. They will return home to host Siena and Monmouth in their next two games.

George Beamon posted a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds to lead Manhattan to a 74-62 victory over Saint Peter's in the first meeting between the two this season. The win was the fifth straight for the Jaspers over the Peacocks, increasing their all-time series lead to 71-48.

Even on their home floor, the Peacocks couldn't get going offensively against Rider. They only connected on 34.8 percent of their shots from the field, while tallying a mere nine assists. Desi Washington was the top scorer with 15 points, but he was also guilty of four turnovers.

Saint Peter's has struggled to find success on offense all season long. The Peacocks are next-to-last in the MAAC in scoring (64.3 ppg) and field goal percentage (.396), while ranking dead last in assists (10 apg). Marvin Dominique (17.2 ppg, 8.7 rpg) has been playing at an all-league level this season, as he ranks third in rebounds and is among the top-10 scorers as well. Dominique had a bit of an off night against Rider, totaling 12 points on 3- of-9 shooting, although he did have a team-high seven boards. Washington (13.1 ppg) is the only other double-digit scorer on the roster.

Manhattan hung with Iona through the first half, but fell short in the second, when it only connected on 38.7 percent of its total shots, while turning in an 11-of-18 performance at the free-throw line. Rhamel Brown registered 15 points, eight rebounds and three blocks in the losing effort.

The Jaspers have not been burdened by the offensive issues that plague Saint Peter's. They are second in the conference in scoring (77.9 ppg), while shooting the fourth-best percentage from the floor (.428). Beamon (19 ppg, 7.1 rpg) is a skilled scorer, who also cleans up on the boards. He was not as productive against Iona, tallying nine points and seven rebounds. Michael Alvarado (13.8 ppg, 4.1 apg) runs the point and serves as a solid second scoring option. He is third in the conference in assists, Alvarado dished out six helpers against Iona to go with 11 points, but he turned in a 5-of-18 showing from the field.

Manhattan already defeated Saint Peter's once this season. Beamon and Brown (9.4 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.6 bpg), the conference's leader in blocks, will give Dominique trouble on the inside, keeping the Peacocks from pulling off the upset.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Manhattan 76, Saint Peter's 63
