GAME NOTES: Portland State tries to close out a four-game homestand with a clean sweep, as the Vikings welcome North Dakota to the Stott Center for a Big Sky Conference showdown.

The Vikings have ripped off three straight wins and five in the last six outings, thanks in part to an 80-57 blowout of the Northern Colorado Bears on Thursday night. The squad is now 5-4 in conference play which, heading into the weekend, means they are tied with Northern Arizona for fourth place in the league standings.

As for UND, it too was in action just two nights ago and used the opportunity to dismiss Eastern Washington, 73-61. With four consecutive wins and six in the last eight decisions overall, North Dakota is 6-3 in Big Sky action.

Portland State has come up empty in all four previous meetings with UND, the latest setback being a 74-66 decision here at the Stott Center last season.

Aaron Anderson scored 17 points, leading four players in double figures, as North Dakota defeated the Eastern Washington Eagles by double figures in conference play at Reese Court. Troy Huff accounted for 15 points and nine rebounds for North Dakota, followed by Alonzo Traylor and Jaron Nash with 11 points apiece. Defensively, UND held the Eagles to just 37.7 percent shooting from the floor and forced 16 turnovers.

Huff is the leading scorer for UND on the season with 19.7 ppg, although he is shooting just 29.7 percent behind the 3-point line. While his efforts on the glass rise from 7.5 rpg on the campaign with 8.3 rpg in league play, his scoring dips to 16.3 ppg partly due to the fact that his accuracy out on the perimeter plummets to only 23.3 percent. As a team, North Dakota is converting just 30.4 percent from the outside, compared to 39.7 percent for the rest of the Big Sky.

Gary Winston scored 19 points and handed out six assists as the Portland State Vikings cruised to a 23-point win over the Northern Colorado Bears in Big Sky Conference play at the Stott Center. Also scoring in double figures for Portland State were Marcus Hall and Kyle Richardson with 17 and 16 points, respectively, as the team posted a third straight win and the fifth in the last six outings. PSU scored the first points of the night and never looked back, converting 60.9 percent from the floor, including 4-of-7 behind the 3- point line, en route to a commanding 43-22 advantage at the break.

Responsible for only eight points in the blowout win over Northern Colorado, Tim Douglas is still the leading scorer overall for PSU with his 14.1 ppg, although his 38.4 percent accuracy from the floor is in dire need of a boost. Douglas does try to make up for his deficiency from the field with a team-best 68 assists, with some of those dishes going to DaShaun Wiggins who is the only other active player in double figures at the moment with 12.4 ppg.

Both of these squads are rather ordinary, similar in scoring offense and defensive prowess. With that being said, PSU does have a leg up in this meeting due to playing at home and not having to travel on such short notice like North Dakota.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Portland State 74, North Dakota 70
