GAME NOTES: The Cleveland State Vikings will try to keep pace in the Horizon League standings tonight when they pay a visit to the O'rena to take on the Oakland Golden Grizzlies.

Cleveland State entered the week in second place in the league standings, two games back of Green Bay. The Vikings have been idle since notching an 86-78 win at Detroit last Saturday, which marked their fourth victory in a row. Tonight's contest is the third leg of the team's four-game road swing.

Oakland has endured a somewhat rocky transition from the Summit League to the Horizon League. The team has been slow adapting to unfamiliar HL venues and is just 1-12 outside of Rochester, Michigan this season. Most recently, the Golden Grizzlies traveled to Milwaukee on Sunday and were dealt a lopsided, 86-64 loss.

CSU has won all four prior meetings in the head-to-head series, including an 86-76 home win over Oakland on Jan. 16.

Vikings guard Bryn Forbes scored a career-high 27 points in the win over Detroit, and he set a school record by hitting a 3-pointer in his 24th straight game. All told, Forbes (16.6 ppg) was 7-of-10 from the field and 4- of-6 from beyond the arc, and he also grabbed seven rebounds. Charlie Lee added 13 points, while reserves Sebastian Douglas and Jon Harris (10.7 ppg, 6.2 rpg) scored 14 and 12 points, respectively. It was the ninth time already this season that CSU eclipsed 80 points, the most since the 1999-00 squad hit that mark 12 times. And what's more, the Vikings are starting to get healthy. Douglas, the senior swing man, returned after missing the previous five games due to injury. He is shooting 65.1 percent from the floor this season as he continues to get looks near the rim. Fellow senior big man Luda Ndaye, who has missed all season with a shoulder injury, was also recently cleared.

Any team facing Oakland must be ready to defend the perimeter, where sharpshooter Travis Bader thrives. Against Milwaukee on Sunday, Bader broke former Duke standout J.J. Redick's NCAA Division I record for the most career 3-pointers (461 and counting). He finished with 21 points, but Kahlil Felder was the only teammate to join Bader in double figures as he tallied 10 points to go with a game-high nine assists. Meanwhile, Milwaukee shot 57 percent from the floor, made 13-of-25 3-point tries, and held a 41-24 rebounding advantage for the game. On the season, Bader leads the team with 19.5 ppg, while Corey Petros (13.8 ppg, 8.3 rpg) and Duke Mondy (11.8 ppg, 5.3 rpg) also average double figures. Felder earned his league-best fifth Freshman of the Week award this week and is scoring at a 14.0 ppg clip in conference play. In the previous game, against Youngstown State, he racked up 19 points to go along with 12 assists and also made the game-winning free throws with four seconds left.

Most of the Golden Grizzlies' struggles this season have come on the road, but Bader and Felder have certainly proven capable of sparking the home crowd. Still, they face a tall task in trying to keep pace with the high-scoring Vikings.
