GAME NOTES: The Milwaukee Panthers look to extend a two-game winning streak when they host the Cleveland State Vikings in Horizon League action Saturday night.

Cleveland State had won two in a row before falling in the team's Horizon League opener against Green Bay, 66-55, Thursday. The trip to Milwaukee will be the third contest of a three-game road trip for the Vikings, who are 1-1 in the past two games.

Milwaukee has won two in a row and is coming off an 82-76 win over Youngstown State in the Panthers' Horizon League opener. Milwaukee experienced a two-game losing streak prior to consecutive wins. The Panthers have won seven of their last nine games.

Milwaukee has the edge in the all-time series, 23-17, while the last time Cleveland State won in Milwaukee was during the 2010-11 campaign.

Although two Cleveland State players recorded double-doubles Thursday against Green Bay, the Vikings dropped their conference opener. Trey Lewis and Marlin Mason scored 11 points each leading the Vikings in the losing effort. Mason added 10 rebounds for the double-double, while Anton Grady scored 10 and grabbed another 10 rebounds. Both Lewis and Charlie Lee recorded four assists in the contest. As a team, the Vikings shot 39.7 percent from the floor.

Lewis is second on the team this season in scoring average with a 13.6 ppg mark. The leader, Bryn Forbes, is averaging 16.9 ppg in the team's 15 games. Lewis leads the team with a 3.7 apg average, and Jon Harris is the top player in terms of rebounding on the Cleveland State roster averaging 6 rpg. The Vikings average 75.2 ppg as a team and surrender 69.7 ppg to opponents.

Milwaukee led Youngstown State by as many as 19 points in the second half as the Panthers cruised to a victory in their first Horizon League game. Jordan Aaron was the go-to player for the Panthers in the win, recording 27 points and notching five rebounds and four assists in the victory. Steve McWhorter was second on the Milwaukee team in points adding 17, while Kyle Kelm and Matt Tiby scored 12 and 11 points, respectively. Kelm also grabbed 10 rebounds against the Penguins.

Three players this season are averaging just over 13 ppg for the Panthers. Tiby leads Milwaukee with 13.9 ppg, while Kelm scores an average of 13.7 ppg and Aaron at 13 ppg. Austin Arians is the fourth Milwaukee player averaging in double figures in terms of points this season with a 12.2 ppg mark. Tiby leads the team in rebounding with a 6.8 rpg clip, while Kelm comes in with a 5.4 rpg mark.

Milwaukee had to shake off some rust after the holiday break in a loss to Northeastern, but it appears the Panthers are back on track and will look forward to getting the Vikings on their home court.
