GAME NOTES: After a dismal start to the season, the Oakland Golden Grizzlies look to turn things around and string wins together as they host the Milwaukee Panthers Wednesday in Horizon League action at the Athletics Center O'rena.

Milwaukee is coming off a loss to Cleveland State at home, 77-49, but has still won of its last 10 contests and is 11-5 on the season. The Panthers look to climb above the .500 conference record with a win at Oakland.

The Golden Grizzlies are trying to dig themselves out of an 0-7 start to the season. They've won four of their last six contests, including a 75-70 victory over defending Horizon League champion Valparaiso Saturday.

The Panthers have the advantage in the all-time series between the two programs, 6-1. They will meet up again this season in Milwaukee on Feb. 2.

Cleveland State scored 11 of the game's first 13 points to give the Vikings an early edge on the Panthers, and never looked back as they ran to a 77-49 victory over Milwaukee. It was the first loss in three games for the Panthers, who fell for the first time in the HL this season. Jordan Aaron scored a team- high 14 points in the contest, contributing five rebounds in 35 minutes of action. Matt Tiby added 13 points and Steve McWhorter scored 10, but turned the ball over four times in the loss. As a team, the Panthers turned the ball over to the Vikings 15 times compared to the two total assists the team accumulated during the game.

Tiby, Aaron and Kyle Kelm are the three top scorers for the Panthers this season, all within one point of each other. Tiby nets an average of 13.9 ppg, while both Aaron and Kelm score an average of 13.1 ppg. Austin Arians is the fourth and final Panthers player to net double figures this season, averaging 11.7 per outing. McWhorter is second on the Panthers in a weak rebounding and assist category with a 3.7 rpg clip and a 3.3 apg average. Tiby leads the team with 6.6 rpg.

Oakland trailed for a large portion of its game with Valpo Saturday, but managed to scrape out a win at home for the team's third victory in four outings. Duke Mondy poured in a game-high 24 points against the Crusaders on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor. The guard also contributed four rebounds, three assists and two steals in the contest. Travis Bader added 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting in the win, playing the entire 40 minutes.

Bader leads the team in scoring this season with 21.5 ppg, with a 43.1 percent shooting mark from beyond the 3-point arc and a 93.8 percent clip from the free-throw line. Mondy is third on the team, averaging 12.3 ppg, but 16.5 ppg in Horizon League action. Mondy is second on the team with 64 total assists this season, and tops the roster with 50 steals in 13 games played. Corey Petros leads the Golden Grizzlies in rebounding with 8.3 rpg.

Oakland has a handful of strong players on its roster, especially with Mondy in the lineup, but Milwaukee has been a very good road team this season and will look to improve against a team giving up an average of 75.8 ppg to its opponents.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Milwaukee 76, Oakland 67
