GAME NOTES: The Cornell Big Red have yet to defeat a Division I opponent this season, but will try to end that streak as they travel to face the Yale Bulldogs in Ivy League action at John J. Lee Amphitheater.

Cornell has lost three games in a row, and began the season 0-13. The Big Red are coming off a Friday night loss to Brown, 78-66, in Ivy League play. Cornell is 0-3 in the conference this season.

Yale got back in the win column with a 69-59 victory over Columbia Friday. The Bulldogs have won three of their last four games, and sit at 2-1 in Ivy League action - one game behind 3-0 Harvard in the conference.

In a historic Ivy League rivalry that has been played over 200 times in the past, Cornell holds a slim lead, 110-104. Yale won the last outing, 79-70, in March of 2013 in Ithaca.

Cornell was leading Brown at the half, 33-30, on Friday night, but the Bears made a second-half comeback that dropped the Big Red to 0-3 in conference play. Jake Matthews scored a career-high 17 points for Cornell in the loss, and Devin Cherry notched his first career double-double with a 13-point, 12- rebound performance. Nolan Cressler Chipped in 16 points in the loss. Cornell shot 37.5 percent from the floor in the game.

Cressler leads the team in scoring this season with a 15.5 ppg average on 40.4 percent shooting from the field. Cressler, though, is shooting just 28.9 percent from 3-point range on the year (33-of-114). Cherry is second on the second on the team in scoring with 11.1 ppg, but sports a team-best 56 assists on the season (3.3 apg) and 11 steals. Dwight Tarwater tops the team in rebounding with 5.9 rpg, and is fourth in scoring at 5.9 ppg. The Big Red are averaging 65.4 ppg through 17 contests this year.

Yale took advantage of its size underneath the basket Friday night, as Columbia sent the Bulldogs to the free-throw line 47 times in the contest. Yale connected on 34 attempts from the charity stripe, which accounted nearly half of Yale's points in the win. Justin Sears came off the bench to score a team-high 22 points with eight rebounds for Yale, while Armani Cotton netted 13 and Matt Townsend scored 11. The Bulldogs shot 42.1 percent from the floor in the game.

Sears, who wasn't in the starting lineup for the first time in Yale's 17 contests Friday night, leads the team in scoring with 15.6 ppg on an even 50 percent shooting from the floor. Sears also tops the squad in rebounding with a 6.4 rpg average and a team-high 1.6 spg mark. Javier Duren is second on the Bulldogs roster in scoring with 13.1 ppg, and first in assists at 3 apg. Yale is scoring 68.5 ppg through 17 games played.

Cornell's struggles - especially on the road - are apparent. The Big Red lack true scoring depth and a unified defense. Yale should easily be able to take advantage of that on its own home court.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Yale 69, Cornell 61
