NCAA Game Summary - Arkansas at Vanderbilt

(Saturday, February 8th)

Final Score: Arkansas 77, Vanderbilt 75

Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Michael Qualls scored a team-high 17 points off the bench, including the game-winning 3-pointer with four seconds remaining to lift the Arkansas Razorbacks to a dramatic 77-75 victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores in SEC action at Memorial Gymnasium.

Coty Clarke scored 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field for Arkansas (15-8, 4-6 SEC), which has won back-to-back games. Rashad Madden and Mardracus Wade poured in 12 and 11 points, respectively.

For Vanderbilt (13-9, 5-5), which snapped a four-game winning streak, Rod Odom led all scorers with 22 points, while Kyle Fuller was hot on his heels with 20 points. Damian Jones added 12 points and seven rebounds for the hosts and Dai- Jon Parker had 11 points.

Vanderbilt shot an impressive 51.9 percent from the field in the first half, but Arkansas was even better at 60.7 percent as it carried a 45-40 lead into intermission.

The Razorbacks extended their advantage to as many as nine before the Commodores used a 12-0 run to take a three-point lead with 3:20 remaining. After Arkansas took a brief one-point advantage with 25 seconds left after Clarke had a 1-of-2 trip at the line, Vanderbilt went back ahead by one on a pair of Fuller free throws with 11 seconds to go. The Razorbacks responded with the game-winning 3-pointer by Qualls on the other end, and Odom's 3-point attempt at the buzzer did not fall as the Commodores came up short.

Arkansas was a red-hot 10-of-16 from beyond the arc on the afternoon, while Vanderbilt knocked down 8-of-21 from 3-point distance.
