GAME NOTES: Weber State tries to stay ahead of the pack in the Big Sky Conference, as the Wildcats clash with the Montana Grizzlies tonight at the Dee Events Center.

Through seven league bouts, the Wildcats are tied for first in the Big Sky standings with Northern Colorado as both teams show a record of 6-1. The team is currently enjoying a four-game win streak, thanks to an 86-57 blowout against Montana State here just two nights ago.

Winners of seven of the last eight contests on the schedule overall, WSU has won 23 consecutive Big Sky regular season home games, establishing a new school record.

For Montana, a team which is just 1-2 in road conference games to this point, that one victory actually came on Thursday night as the Grizzlies slipped by Idaho State in Moscow, 59-54. The victory was the second in the last three outings for a group that is 3-4 in conference play a the moment.

As far as the all-time series is concerned, the Wildcats own a 65-52 advantage overall and are 42-15 versus Montana in Ogden. Weber State has won nine of the last 10 home dates in the series as well.

Jordan Gregory scored 21 points, shooting 5-of-9 behind the 3-point line, as the Grizzlies slipped by Idaho State a few nights back at Reed Gym in Pocatello. Also scoring in double figures for the visitors was Keron DeShields who dropped in 13 points, thanks to his 3-of-4 effort beyond the arc as well. Of the 21 field goals converted by Montana in the meeting, 12 came from 3- point range.

Kareem Jamar, who shot only 3-of-11 from the field as he finished with seven points on Thursday, adding nine assists, six rebounds and three steals, is the leading scorer for Montana on the season overall with his 19.0 ppg. Jamar is also tops on the squad in terms of rebounding (5.6 rpg) and total assists (77) as well. Gregory and DeShields are the other double-digit performers for the group with 14.9 and 13.2 ppg, respectively.

Weber State scored the first points of the meeting with Montana State and never looked back as the host converted 62.2 percent from the floor, including 10-of-22 beyond the arc, in order to combat 16 turnovers. Davion Berry tallied 25 points and seven assists as every starter scored in double digits. Jeremy Senglin dropped in 13 points, Kyle Tresnak and Jordan Richardson 12 apiece, followed by Joel Bolomboy with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

In conference play, Berry is producing 18.0 ppg on the strength of his 40.6 percent accuracy out on the perimeter. Richardson, who is 51.4 percent beyond the arc, checks in with another 11.0 ppg, followed by Senglin (9.7 ppg) who has converted 12 of his 33 chances on the outside. As a group, the Wildcats are an impressive 42.7 percent from long range, averaging eight triples per contest as they outscore Big Sky foes by 8.3 ppg.

Getting clean looks at the basket from the outside will go a long way in the Wildcats continuing to dominate the Big Sky, but Montana is no slouch so the hosts will have their hands full tonight.
