GAME NOTES: The regular season finale for Pepperdine and Santa Clara takes place Saturday as the West Coast Conference foes duke it out at Firestone Fieldhouse.

Both teams are coming off losses on Thursday, as Santa Clara dropped a 75-71 decision against Loyola Marymount, while Pepperdine fell to San Francisco, 77-53.

The Waves actually led by two at halftime before being outscored by a wide 47-21 margin after the break. Stacy Davis paced Pepperdine with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Malcolm Brooks and Austin Mills tacked on 11 and 10 points, respectively, in the team's fourth loss in five games.

Davis has really come on strong for the Waves this season, especially in recent weeks with several huge performances. He leads the team with a 15.1 ppg average, hitting 47.2 percent of his shot attempts from the floor, and his 7.7 rpg mark narrowly edges Brendan Lane's 7.5. Lane is second on Pepperdine's roster in scoring with 13.3 ppg, and Brooks is third at 10.3 ppg. Jeremy Major tops the squad with 127 assists and 38 steals.

Pepperdine still sits a game over .500 overall at 15-14, but has really had problems stringing wins together in the WCC, dropping four of its last five to settle at 8-9 in league play.

The Broncos, meanwhile, could not handle the league-worst Lions on Thursday despite Evan Roquemore going off for 19 points and Brandon Clark chipping in with 17. Santa Clara also received 12 points from Jared Brownridge, but the team shot a modest .429 from the floor and committed a whopping 20 turnovers in the loss.

On the season, Clark leads the squad with 17.9 ppg, followed by Jared Brownridge with 16.2 ppg. Brownridge is a hot candidate for WCC Newcomer of the Year and needs two more points to break the Bronco freshman scoring record. Roquemore, who is the career assists and free-throw record holder at Santa Clara, rounds out the double-digit scorers with 10.8 ppg.

Last season, Santa Clara swept a pair of games from Pepperdine, returning the favor after the Waves won both tilts during the 2011-12 campaign. Pepperdine, however, took the first meeting this season and will likely pick up a second sweep in three years behind strong efforts from Davis and Lane.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Pepperdine 77, Santa Clara 66
