(Saturday, February 15th)

Final Score: Eastern Kentucky 86, Jacksonville State 65

Jacksonville, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tarius Johnson scored 19 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Eastern Kentucky Colonels posted a convincing 86-65 win over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in an Ohio Valley Conference contest at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

Glenn Cosey accounted for 15 points and five assists for the Colonels (18-9, 5-8 OVC), followed by Orlando Williams and Corey Walden with 14 and 12 points, respectively, as the team snapped a two-game slide.

Darion Rackley was the lone double-digit scorer for the Gamecocks (10-18, 4-9) as he tallied 19 points, shooting 6-of-15 from the field and missing all five attempts behind the 3-point line as the team suffered a fifth straight setback.

JSU scored the first points of the contest, but it didn't take long for the Colonels to surge ahead on the strength of 70.0 percent shooting from the field and a perfect 9-of-9 at the free-throw line, en route to the 41-31 advantage at the break.

In the second half EKU again shot the ball well from the field (.607), converting 7-of-13 behind the 3-point line in the frame in order to cruise to the 21-point road win.

In addition to forcing the Gamecocks into 18 turnovers, Eastern Kentucky also knocked down a sizzling 64.6 percent from the field and 11-of-21 on the perimeter.
