GAME NOTES: After having their four-game win streak broken over the weekend, the Saint Joseph's Hawks try to get back on the positive side of the ledger again when they tangle with the Dayton Flyers in Atlantic 10 Conference action on Wednesday night.

One problem facing the Hawks is that they've lost seven in a row at UD Arena, and have not won in Dayton since Feb. 21, 2001.

Another issue for Phil Martelli's team is their drop-off in shooting efficiency. Saint Joseph's had a recent four-game stretch in which it had a 57.2 shooting percentage, including 54.1 percent from 3-point range. They cooled down to 44.2 percent from the field in a tight win Jan. 22 against Rhode Island, and in the loss against Richmond the Hawks made just 37.1 percent overall. The team is also at the bottom of the A-10 by making just 63.1 percent at the foul line. They went a combined 25-of-48 at the charity stripe in the last two contests.

The Hawks suffered a 77-62 defeat at Richmond last Saturday. Halil Kanacevic had a double-double with 21 points and a career-high 19 rebounds. Langston Galloway finished with 13 points, DeAndre' Bembry added 11 and Chris Wilson chipped in 10 points.

One milestone was reached Saturday and another is on the cusp of being attained tonight for the Hawks. Galloway became the school's all-time leader in 3-point field goals made, breaking the mark previous held by Pat Carroll. Galloway has knocked down 296 treys in his career. Kanacevic is six points shy of 1,000 for his career.

Winners of nine of their last 11 games, the Hawks are led offensively by Galloway (17.7 ppg). Ronald Roberts (14.6 ppg, 7.3 rpg), Bembry (11.1 ppg), Kanacevic (10.4 ppg, 8.1 rpg) and Wilson (9.6 ppg) make up the remainder of the starting five for a team that is second in the A-10 in field goal percentage (.473). They're also first (.395) in 3-point percentage.

The Flyers have lost three in a row, the most recent of which being last Saturday's 88-76 setback at Rhode Island. Dyshawn Pierre scored 17 points to lead the Flyers. Devin Oliver (16 points), Matt Kavanaugh (13) and Vee Sanford (11) also reached double figures.

This is just the fourth time in Dayton's history that the Flyers have started A-10 play 1-4. The Flyers sport the fourth-highest scoring (75.6 ppg) offense in the conference. They're also first in the A-10 in field goal percentage (.479) and second in percentage beyond the arc (.380).

Pierre (12.2 ppg) has scored in double figures in each of the last five games and is averaging 14.6 points per outing. Khari Price leads the A-10 in 3-point field goal accuracy (.463). Oliver (12.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg) and Jordan Sibert (11.6 ppg) are also part of the starting lineup. Sibert is second in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (.460).

The hot shooting of the Flyers and the history of winning at home against Saint Joseph's may be too much for the Hawks to overcome.
