UConn women still No. 1

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Connecticut remained a unanimous pick as the top women's college basketball team, according to the latest Associated Press Poll.

The Huskies received all 36 first-place votes and 900 points from a nationwide media panel.

The first six teams remained unchanged, with UConn again followed by Notre Dame, Duke, Stanford, Louisville and Maryland. North Carolina, Oklahoma State, Kentucky and South Carolina rounded out to the top 10.

The second 10 consists of Tennessee, Baylor, Penn State, Arizona State, LSU, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, West Virginia, California and Iowa State. Baylor fell five spots from seventh, Arizona State climbed five places to 14th and West Virginia joined the rankings at No. 18.

Nebraska, Purdue, North Carolina State, Florida State and Gonzaga are the last five teams ranked. Gonzaga was the other newcomer, while Colorado and Rutgers fell out.
