GAME NOTES: The Murray State Racers had a five-game winning streak snapped their last time out, and will look to get back in the win column as they host the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles in Ohio Valley Conference action at CFSB Center.

Tennessee Tech had a two-game win streak broken up as well in the team's most recent outing. An 83-74 loss to Southeast Missouri State set the Golden Eagles back to 3-2 in the OVC East Division standings - one and a half games behind the lead.

Murray State, which leads the OVC West Division with a 5-1 conference record, suffered its first conference loss Saturday as the Racers dropped a 67-60 decision to SIU Edwardsville. The five-game win streak (all in the OVC) was the longest of the season for Murray State.

The Racers have command of the all-time series against Tennessee Tech, which is a long-standing rivalry, 128-48. This meeting however, is the first and only time the two programs will meet this regular season.

Tennessee Tech held as much as a 15-point lead in the first half of Saturday's meeting with Southeast Missouri State, but the Redhawks eventually found their shooting stride and took an 83-74 victory at Tennessee Tech. The Golden Eagles were led by Jordan Johnson, who netted 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting - all from 3-point distance. Jeremiah Samarrippas scored 12 points and dished out six assists, while Ladon Carter added 11 points. Both Dennis Ogbe and Josiah Moore chipped in 10 apiece.

Ogbe is the only Tennessee Tech player to average scoring numbers in the double digits this season at 10.3 ppg on 59.2 percent shooting from the floor. Ty Allen, Dwan Caldwell and Samarrippas all average 9.2 ppg. Ogbe tops the team with a 6.3 rpg average, while Carter is second at 5.3 rpg. Samarrippas leads the team in passing, recording 3.9 apg through 20 contests played. The Golden Eagles average 72.8 ppg this season.

Murray State jumped ahead of SIU Edwardsville after 20 minutes of play, 37-32. But the Cougars ran away with the second half of play, outscoring the Racers 35-23 in the frame and taking the victory. Jeffery Moss led Murray State with 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor. T.J. Sapp netted 11 points and Dexter Fields scored 10 for the Racers. Jarvis Williams scored eight and grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds.

Cameron Payne, who scored nine points in the loss to SIUE, leads the team with 15 ppg on 36.6 percent shooting from the field. His 96 assists on the year is a team best, as are his 27 steals. Sapp is second in scoring at 14.6 ppg, and Williams is third with 12.9 ppg. Williams averages a double-double this season through 18 games, also bringing down an average of 10.2 rpg. The Racers are scoring 72.8 ppg this season.

Murray State's first conference loss didn't set the team back in the standings, but you can be sure the loss hurt in the sense that it broke up a five-game win streak. With some incredibly talented players like Payne and Williams leading the charge, the Racers should get back into the win column at home.
