Final Score: Northeastern 81, Hofstra 73

Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Scott Eatherton registered yet another double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds as the Northeastern Huskies defeated the Hofstra Pride, 81-73, in a Colonial Athletic Association battle at Mathews Arena.

Eatherton, who also blocked four shots, was one of six players to score in double figures for the Huskies (8-16, 5-5 CAA) as the snapped a two-game slide. Reggie Spencer and David Walker each tallied 15 points, Zach Stahl 13, and both TJ Williams and Demetrius Pollard 12 points, the latter also handing out five assists for the hosts.

The Pride (7-17, 3-6) were paced by Dion Nesmith who dropped in a game-high 20 points, followed by Zeke Upshaw and Jamall Robinson with 16 and 13 points, respectively. Stephen Nwaukoni contributed seven points and 10 rebounds off the bench as the team's losing streak stretched to five games.

Northeastern finished the first half shooting 55.6 percent from the floor, but with just 1-of-5 accuracy behind the 3-point line the team enjoyed only a 35-29 advantage at the break. Through the first 20 minutes of action the Pride knocked down a disappointing 34.5 percent from the field.

In the second half the Huskies again shot the ball well from the floor (.550) and this time knocked down not only 5-of-9 on the perimeter but also 19-of-26 attempts at the free-throw line in order to take the eight-point home win.

Northeastern secured only four offensive rebounds on the night, but made up for it with a 23-11 scoring edge at the charity stripe.
