GAME NOTES: The Siena Saints have made the trek to the Big Apple to take on the Manhattan Jaspers in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Draddy Gymnasium.

The Saints come in fresh off a loss to Iona this past Sunday, but they have won two of their last three and five of their last seven outings overall.

The Jaspers are on quite a roll, having come out victorious in nine of their last 10 decisions, most recently posting an overtime win against Marist, also on Sunday.

Manhattan has won 48 of the 87 previous meetings in the series with Siena, including the last three at Draddy Gym. The teams split a pair of meetings last season, with each winning on its home court.

Last time out, A.J. English scored a career-high 31 points and Iona made 15 3-pointers to get over on Siena in an 87-78 final in Albany. The Saints led by four, 66-62, with just over nine minutes to play when starting point guard Marquis Wright fouled out, and the Gaels finished the game on a 25-12 run to escape with the victory. The loss snapped Siena's five-game win streak at Times Union Center, and was the Gaels second straight in Albany after losing 11 of the previous 12. Evan Hymes tallied 19 points to lead Siena. Rob Poole finished with 16 and Maurice White scored 12. Wright had nine points, seven assists and two steals before fouling out.

Poole is the leading scorer for the Saints, averaging 15.5 ppg while also holding his own on the boards, pulling down 5,7 rpg. Hymes is the only other player averaging double digits for Siena, as he is dropping in 10,7 ppg. Brett Bisping is the top rebounder for the Saints, grabbing 6.4 rpg.

Behind a career-high 33 points from Michael Alvarado, the Jaspers outlasted the Marist Red Foxes in overtime, 86-79, at Draddy Gym on Sunday. Alvarado made 13-of-17 shots from the field for Manhattan. Rich Williams (13 points) and Emmy Andujar (10 points, nine rebounds) were both solid off the bench, while Shane Richards chipped in with 11 points.

George Beamon leads the Jaspers in scoring and rebounding (20.1 ppg, 6.6 rpg) this season, ranking third in the MAAC in the former, while Alverado contributes 13.2 ppg. Rhamel Brown (8.8 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 3.8 bpg) doesn't have impressive offensive numbers, but he makes up for it on defense as he leads the league in blocked shots. The Jaspers play great team defense, leading the conference in 3-point field goal percentage against (.313) and ranking second in field goal percentage defense (.406).

The Jaspers are hoping to continue their winning ways, and given their excellent defense and the home court advantage, expect them to hand the Saints another loss.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Manhattan 77, Siena 64
