Jacksonville, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Avery Moore scored 19 points off the bench to lift the Jacksonville State Gamecocks to an 82-73 triumph over the Central Michigan Chippewas in a non-conference joust at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

Moore was a strong 6-of-8 shooting from the floor, adding a 4-of-5 effort from the free-throw line to pace the Gamecocks. Undra Mitchem added 17 points and Darion Rackley tacked on 16 for Jacksonville State (5-8). Teraes Clemmons chipped in 12 points off the bench for JSU, which has won two of its last three games.

John Simons had 18 points and was a rebound shy of a double-double for Central Michigan (6-5). Chris Fowler tallied 17 points and Austin Stewart chimed in with 10 for CMU, which dropped its second straight game.

The Gamecocks led 33-27 at halftime. They shot at a 46.2 percent clip in the opening period, including a 5-of-10 effort from beyond the arc. The Chippewas fell behind, netting 43.5 percent from the field.

Jacksonville State heated up to 62.5 percent shooting over the final 20 minutes, and knocked down 15-of-24 attempts from the free-throw line, to pull out the victory.

The win earned some revenge for Jacksonville State, which lost to Central Michigan, 66-61, on Nov. 30. Both teams took great care of the basketball, combining for just 16 turnovers in the game.
