GAME NOTES: The Rider Broncs have traveled north to take on the Fairfield Stags in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tilt on Saturday afternoon at Webster Bank Arena.

Rider had lost three straight, including an 86-69 verdict versus visiting Manhattan on Thursday night. The Broncs sit in the middle of the pack in the MAAC, currently in fifth place.

The last-place Stags fell to Quinnipiac at home, 80-72, also on Thursday night. Fairfield has now lost its last two, and seven of its last eight tilts overall.

This is the 56th meeting between these two programs, with Fairfield owning a 30-25 advantage. The Broncs won back on Feb. 3 in Lawrenceville, 73-65, snapping a four-game losing streak in the series.

In the recent loss to Manhattan, the Broncs were paced by Anthony Myles with 19 points and six boards, followed by Jimmie Taylor and Khalil Alford with 11 points apiece, and Kahlil Thomas with 10 points.

The main weapon for the Broncs has been their shooting from beyond the arc. They are second in the MAAC in connecting on 40.8 percent from 3-point range. Taylor (.457) is also second in the conference in that category. The Broncs are first in free-throw percentage (.737). Myles (17.0 ppg), Daniel Stewart (15.3 ppg, 6.0 rpg) and Taylor (11.1 ppg) lead the way offensively for the Broncs, who average 74.8 ppg and give up 76.4 ppg.

Maurice Barrow poured in 21 points, K.J. Rose added 18 points and seven rebounds, Marcus Gilbert scored 10 points and Amadou Sidibe amassed a game- high 10 boards in the loss to Quinnipiac. Fairfield went into the intermission trailing, 39-28, after it was limited to 32.2 percent efficiency from the floor in the opening half. The Bobcats enjoyed a 40-32 edge in the rebounding battle and outscored Fairfield, 31-18, at the charity stripe. The Stags came up short, although their bench contributed 44 points while Quinnipiac's reserves were held scoreless.

No team in the MAAC is performing worse on offense than Fairfield. The Stags are last in the league in both scoring (62.2 ppg) and field goal percentage (.394), as well as eighth in assists (11.2 apg). Gilbert (13.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg) and Barrow (13.3 ppg, 5.1 rpg) are the top scorers on a roster. Rose (8.1 ppg, 3.6 apg) is the team's leader in assists. They are holding foes to just 69.7 ppg, which is the second-best yield in the MAAC.

The Broncs have the offensive firepower to exploit the defensive weaknesses of the Stags, so expect the visitors to make the most of their opportunity and go back to the Garden State with a victory.
